Neurodiversity-Affirming Diagnostic Evaluations and Other Specialty Services
Here, at Inner Lakes therapy, we are proud to offer neurodiversity-affirming diagnostic evaluations for ADHD and autism, using the DIVA-5 and the MIGDAS-2, respectively.
We also offer other specialty services to help you understand how you relate to yourself and the world.
Meet your evaluator and practice owner, Emily Oliver, LCSW
Emily specializes in providing affirming exploration of a diagnosis of ADHD or autism for adults, especially for those who suspect they are “high-masking.” As someone who herself identifies as neurodivergent, Emily excels at digging deep to assess how her client may have adapted, masked, or accommodated themselves, especially if they have also experienced trauma. She understands that seeking a diagnosis as an adult is an inherently vulnerable experience, one that can shake the very foundation of our identity, and she always works to make sure that her clients feel informed and respected at every step of the process. Diagnoses of ADHD and autism are unique in that, for many clients, they aren’t bad news. They can be deeply validating. They can be the confirmation we’ve looked for all our lives that there is an explanation for why things feel so damn hard— and it can make the experience of pursuing therapy or assessment all the more intimidating, because it places someone else in the position of power to either confirm or reject the core reason why we might see ourselves as enough. In a diagnostic eval with Emily, she doesn’t just consider the clinical side. These are diagnostic evals, balanced with the warm, validating support of a skilled therapist.
Emily was trained by renowned psychologist Dr. Marilyn Monteiro, the creator of the MIGDAS-2, and another psychologist who specializes in the evaluation of ADHD as it intersects with attachment trauma. Emily is the author of the ADHD and Autism Unmasking Workbook and a practicing therapist, certified in several evidence based practices for the treatment of trauma and the support of ADHD and autistic clients.
Please note: Emily is an LCSW and therefore does NOT provide neuropsychological testing. Schedule a free 15 minute consultation to discuss your goals and whether neuropsychological testing would be a better fit for you.

Informal Diagnostic Consultation:
60 minutes - $300
Not everyone wants a formal diagnosis. Some people just want an experienced clinician to say, “Yeah, I think your instinct is right and autism/ADHD sound like the best explanation” or “Truthfully, I think you have some other things going on and I think you should look at XYZ,” and then to make some recommendations. This is a great option if you don’t want a diagnosis in your medical record or if you’re just looking for a direction to guide self-discovery or self-accommodating. This is also a great option if you aren’t sure if formal testing is a good investment for you, although it does not guarantee results. This service includes up to 30 minutes of time out of session reviewing client-provided medical records.
